About

First put on in 1992 with just a handful of cars and a single flying act, the show has gone from strength to strength over the years, with it gradually increasing to its current size.

This show is put on by an entirely unpaid volunteer team in aid of the BBC’s Children in Need appeal and various local children’s charities and organisations. To this date we have raised in the region of £320,000 for these causes.

We are always looking for volunteers to help, be that in the background with whatever skills you can bring to the table, to help with set up 2 days before and on the day as a steward. If you can help give John Swain a message on 07545 258386.

Event Organiser John Swain and the show committee consists of: Mark Jefferies, John Jefferies, Darren Harbar, Dave Poile, building upon the experience of our dear friends Adrian Hamilton and Doug Sewell, no longer with us but forever part of the team.

Home

Due to the COVID19 Corona virus outbreak, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel Little Gransden Air Display & Classic Car Show 2020. We hope to put on a bigger and better show in 2021!

This is a great family day out with something for everyone; superb air displays and on the ground everything from classic cars to craft shows all set in the beautiful open countryside here at Little Gransden Airfield near Sandy in Bedfordshire.

In the air.

You can enjoy over three and a half hours of flying action – from early biplanes, WW2 warbirds through to modern extreme aerobatics featuring solo and formation air displays with world championship aerobatic pilots and the GlobalStars Aerobatic Formation Team plus much, much more.

We’ll also have a number of aircraft on static display including fabulous Hawker Fury and Hawker Hurricane restorations from the Cambridge Bomber and Fighter Society.

On the road.

More than 300 classic, historic, vintage and ex-military vehicles from the earliest days of the internal combustion engine, showing off the amazing variety of engineering and design skill that has gone into getting us from A to B over the last century or so.

On the ground.

A funfair, over 70 trade stands and a craft fair selling all sorts of hand made items including clothing, pottery, jewellery, gifts, toys, cakes and sweets, plants, etc. + live music from our local band ‘Junkyard Preachers’.

Other ground exhibits include vintage tractors, stationary engines, scale model aircraft, glider and a rare F1 aircraft racer.

Refreshments.

A licensed bar, fish and chips, coffee, ice cream, BBQ, burgers, hog roast, sweets, donuts… you won’t go hungry or thirsty at the Little Gransden Air Display & Classic Car Show!

Take it easy.

Let our VIP team provide you with breakfast, dinner and drinks at your table while you watch the show in comfort (limited number of tickets available).
